(read it from the bottom up)

April 9, 2006:

Cumb.org went down today while the software running the server was updated.

Geek: The good old cumb.org server was upgraded from the positively ancient Linux kernel version 2.2 to the new and improved kernel 2.6 provided by the nice folks at the Debian Linux distribution. Yay for ext3 and not having to wait for fsck to run every time the power goes out! Also, a few days ago the cumb.org server was moved from Horace Mann Hall at TC to Watson Hall on 115th street. As a result, we get easier access to the server (TC is far away) and cumb.org is now running on a 100Mbit line rather than a 10Mbit one.

Non-Geek: Cumb.org is now better, faster, and more awesome!

Look out for major updates this summer.

Launch of cumb.org, v.9. So much has changed that we in order to catch up to the rest of the world we had to skip versiions 5 through 8. .
