{Ed, June 2004 - The phrase "cleverest band in the world" is handwritten into this script with the word cleverest being crossed out and replaced with wittiest. If only the name had stuck. Also, the "going up, going down" make an early appearance in this script as well as what will later be known as an amorph.}

Today the Band will try to bring the alumni up to date on some of the recent happenings on the Morningside campus. An old grad revisiting the campus after a few years' absence notices first of all a magnificent one million dollar unfinished bridge, almost connecting the School of Law with the main campus across Amsterdam Avenue. While some things are going down, others are going up -- dormitory rents...Residence Hall inmates are watching with interest as linen is changed once a fortnight, trash is emptied twice a day, and the University Residence Halls continue to price themselves out of business. The Band portrays the inside of a typical dorm room, and questions the rent hikes.

[mass together, play How High the Moon]

[Break, on]
